Located 35 miles southeast of Geneva, Switzerland, Chamonix sits in a valley at the foot of Mont Blanc (the highest peak in the Alps). Above town, the Tour du Mont Blanc trail offers mountain panoramas.

Entertainment
Chamonix hosted the first ever Winter Olympics in 1924, so it goes without saying that winter sports dominate. During the summertime, however, there are a number of activities such as "Musical Weeks", a series of classical concerts, and "Tango Week"
Weather
