10/20/2006 THE RACE IS ON AMONG THE TOP MEN

Expect to see Abdi Abdirahman in Chicago's lead pack on Sunday

PUBLISHED 10/20/2006

Brian Sell actually has a faster personal best than "Abdi," but Abdiraman is the one talking ambitiously, even about the prospect of winning in Chicago. He's going to give it a shot for as long as he can, in any case. "I want to be with the leaders. I'm as good as they are. There's no reason for me to stay in the back," he insists. "If you want to win, you've got to run from the front or run with the leaders." And those leaders will be going full tilt. With this deep and talented field, Sell figures "somebody could easily run 2:06-high and not be in the top five this year."
