10/24/2006 CHICAGO MARATHON HAS ITS LOCAL HEROES, TOO

The Windy City sends three of its best to the Olympic Trials Qualifier

PUBLISHED 10/24/2006

The runners achieving U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifying standards in Chicago on Sunday included Donnie Franzen and Chris Wehrman, who represented Fleet Feet Chicago and crossed the finish line close together in 2:20:49 and 2:20:55, respectively. And local athlete Jamie Krzminski, a former All-American at Michigan State, will be going to the women's Trials after her 2:43:34 in Chicago. "The last three miles was just brutal," observed Krzminski. "The wind wasn't horrible, but on that stretch you just want to get to the finish."
