11/2/2006 HUCKABEE KEEPING HIS GOALS MODEST

With an aching knee, this Arkansas governor hopes to make it through Sunday's race in New York

Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas lost over 100 pounds after finding out he had diabetes. He's done the Little Rock Marathon twice and is entered in Sunday's ING New York City Marathon. But now his right knee is ailing."Something is aggravating it and inflaming it, and all I can hope for is resting and maybe I'll make it," notes the governor. "I'm hoping to finish it before Monday, before the street sweepers come and try to clear off the front of their trucks." He's such a kidder. Anyway, Huckabee has had the knee drained twice and has another medical appointment scheduled for today.
