04/12/2007 CHERUIYOT PLAGUED BY HEADACHES

Boston's defending champ Robert Cheruiyot says he has had headaches since his fall in Chicago, but vows to retain his laurels

PUBLISHED 04/12/2007

The Kenyan athlete, who is the leader in the World Marathon Majors points race, slipped and smashed his head on the pavement as he reached the finish in first place in Chicago in October. He insists "that won't stop me from doing my best in Boston this year where I intend to retain my crown," but adds "I may have trained well but due to the headaches, I can not say I am 100 percent. But I'll still give it my all. One of my strongest points is that I believe in myself and I'm confident of doing well."
