04/13/2007 MAIYO AND KIOGORA HOPING TO IMPROVE

Ben Maiyo and Stephen "Baba" Kiogora, who are both runners-up in the World Marathon Majors, are looking to catch Robery Cheruyiot

PUBLISHED 04/13/2007

Maiyo was second in Chicago in 2005 and second in Boston in 2006; Kiogora was second in New York City last fall. The two KIMbia training partners, fresh from workouts in Iten, Kenya and Boulder, Colorado, are among the top contenders to dethrone Boston's reigning champ Robert Cheruiyot. Maiyo promises more temperate tactics than he utilized in Boston a year ago, but insists nerves are not an issue. "I don't think Kenyans get nervous," he maintains. "When the race comes, we will be ready."
