OUTDOOR RESEARCH SYNAPSE RUNNING JACKET

You won't even know you're wearing this skin-like jacket

By Lisa Jhung

PUBLISHED 01/24/2007

A 3.3-ounce jacket that feels like another layer of skin, this minimalist shell kept me dry in a light San Francisco drizzle and comfortable on a windy day in Colorado. I liked the slim-but-not-too-slim fit of the women's version enough to forgive the "swish-swish" noise it made with every arm swing. An interior chest pocket securely stows your keys and things.

Best For: Snow, Wind, Snow
Price: $119
