EBONI House, Inc. (EIN 38-3748005) is a 501 (c) 3 non- profit organization that addresses the prevalence of overweight children between the ages of 6-14 and young adults. According to the Journal of Pediatrics, an estimated 61% of overweight young people have at least one additional risk factor for heart disease, such as high cholesterol or high blood pressure. Furthermore, overweight children are more likely than children of normal weight to become overweight or obese adults. Therefore, overweight children are at higher risks for associated adult health problems such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, several types of cancer, and osteoarthritis.
