Teva X-1C
Manufacturer: Teva
Price: $90
Reviewed in: Dec 2006 Shoe Guide
We say: The X-1C is the more substantial cousin of the X-1, which won an RW Best Debut award in July 2005. It features more stability, thanks to a firmer foam post in the midsole, and comes with two molded and flexible plastic bands that connect the laces to the midsole, improving the arch support. This added stability makes the shoe less flexible than the X-1, according to RW Shoe Lab tests. That said, it remains relatively lightweight. Recommended for runners with normal to low arches who run on a variety of trail surfaces or for those looking for a supportive off-road racing shoe.
Wear-tester says: "A great shoe. I wore them for a trail race in driving rain and got no blisters."--Sarah Vanderbeck, 23, Reading
