We say: Saucony updated the Stabil by building it on a new last (foot form) that's wider in the forefoot to fit a larger segment of runners, especially those who wear orthotics. The midsole employs three densities of foam on the medial (arch) side of the shoe, which are designed to slow the rate of pronation and encourage a smoother heel-to-toe transition. The base of the shoe has also been widened slightly for better stability. Recommended for larger runners with flat to low arches.
Wear-testers say: "I liked the heel cushioning and fit as well as the support it gave me through the midfoot."--Gary Dornblaser, 55, Allentown
"This shoe was extremely stable yet comfortable as well."--Vanessa Saunders, 23, East Lansing
