Jan 2007 Shoe Guide
We say: The Carumba continues Loco's trend of building no-frills shoes. Its midsole consists mostly of standard foam, though Loco added rubber to the heel and forefoot for enhanced softness (it's the second softest shoe in this guide, according to our lab tests). The roomy upper is built on a unisex last (foot form), so it's good for orthotics wearers, but women should definitely test the shoe's fit in the heel before they buy. Recommended for runners who want a basic neutral-cushioned shoe.
Wear-testers say: "Very light and flexible, and felt like a racing flat."--Chris Lett, 32, East Lansing
"I liked the comfort and cushioning, but the shoe was too wide for my foot."--Kimberly Rutt, 35, Allentown
