Boasting an outstanding fit, the 2130 has been updated with the same improvements to the ankle collar and forefoot that Asics made to the 1130. The company also improved the shoe's cushioning--which was confirmed by RW Shoe Lab tests---by using a new formulation of foam in the midsole and softer rubber in the forefoot outsole. The footbridge is thicker, which provides better support. Recommended for runners with normal arches or for lightweight runners with lower arches.
Wear Tester Reviews
"A great shoe. It fit comfortably right out of the box." --Chris Evans Gartley, 34, Allentown

"The shoe felt lightweight, but still had effective cushioning and support." --Brian Potocki, 21, East Lansing

"All in all a good comfortable shoe right from the start. The forefoot is a bit sloppy and I'd like to see that cleaned up." Tom Swientek, 55, East Lansing

"The midfoot support structure gave great support, yet had enough cushioning to not be too stiff. At first the shoe felt a little too roomy in the toe box and heel area., but with my orthotics in the shoe they fit perfect." Don Rochford, 37, East Lansing

"Perfect shoe for mild pronators that want a light flexible shoe." Sarah Stomant, 23, East Lansing

Great fit. I had to get the 2E for my wide forefoot, but the shoe fit like a glove. Better forefoot cushioning than my pair of Brooks Infinity. I even like them more than the pair of Gel Kayano 14 I was running in before I opted for these. I tend to buy and experiment with a lot of different shoes, and so far, these are the best. Great for overpronators such as myself!.

First pair of ASICS ever after Saucony Hurricanes. Have about 80 miles on them and raced Houston Half and age graded at 66%. No problems, comfortable, stable - not usual soreness in legs or feet after a race. Like the lighter weight and responsiveness. .

Test drove a pair about a week ago. Unfortunately this series is moving far, far away from its roots in the 2110, which was arguably one of the best shoes made. The arch support in the 2130 has increased to the point where it feels like I am constantly running over a speed bump. Trust me, if you have a normal arch this shoe is not for you. I have moved on from Asics to the wave inspire 3 from Mizuno..

This shoe is very uncomfortable because of the extra padding added on the inside of the ankle. It will rub you raw..
