New Balance has increased this update's flexibility by removing a layer of rubber from the forefoot flex grooves. A longer midsole post, also new, makes the 768 more stable than the 767. Another welcome addition is the internal liner that backs many of the upper seams with mesh to reduce blisters and hot spots. A less-welcome change is the $5 price increase. Recommended for runners with low arches looking for a durable everyday trainer.
"Very stable, but it needed more cushioning." --Darleen Malkames, 51, Allentown
"The shoe had a great fit." --Mark Warner, 49, East Lansing
"The toebox has a lot of mesh, which makes the area flexible enough to keep my bunion comfortable." --Christine Mattheis, 22, San Diego
"This shoe was instantly comfortable and very lightweight." --Meg Evans Gartley, 34, Allentown
"These shoes are very stable, firm and fit snuggly to my foot." --Caroline Wasielewski, 33, Allentown
"Both the forefoot area and the heel felt a bit on the wide side. I had to lace the shoes pretty tight in order to get a snug fit." --Doug Hochstetler, 41, Allentown

I used to role my ankles fairly often. The wider sole of this shoe put a stop to that. .

Toe box does not allow for a smooth toe-off. The toe box has been reduced in size (I think) from the 767; however, it takes too much work at toe-off. Not efficient. Much prefer the Ascis 2130..

I?ve run twice in these (total of 12 miles) and will be returning them. Great stability and fit but lack of cushioning. The forefront is thin, which is great for feeling the road, and leaves the ball of my foot aching after a run. I really like everything else about the shoe but it?s not worth the discomfort while and after running..

I needed motion control with over pronation and I also have high arches with a wide foot. I have been running in these for 3 weeks and in the snow. The shoe is living up to its promise. Very comfortable and light at a very fair price. This may very well be my new favorite winter running shoe..

Just bought these shoes yesterday, 1/29/08, and I tested them out on the treadmill for 3miles. They are extremely comfortable. If you have high arches and tend to pronate(ankles turn inside a bit) then I would suggest trying them out. I would have to say that the best part is the extra cushioning at the ball of the feet. Happy running..
