We Say: The beauty of the X-1 lies in its simplicity. The shoe is light and built low-to-the-ground. Its midsole comes with a flexible plate to protect the foot from roots and sharp rocks while the outsole is made of soft, lightweight rubber to enhance cushioning and traction. The X-1 gets its stability from prominent plastic bands on the upper that work with the laces to wrap the arch. Recommended for lighter weight, biomechanically efficient runners with normal to high arches who prefer a performance trail shoe that offers support and protection. Note: The X-1 runs about a half size big.
Wear-tester says: "I traditionally run in a heavier shoe to get more cushioning and stability, but these gave me plenty." -Catherine Unruh, 31, Reading
